We went into this game with missing a lot of players due to injury. In retrospect we can say the victory at Hidegkút cost us heavily.
In the first half our opponent had more possession and a few more shots on goal but what was more problematic they also took the lead from a corner and then scored a penalty. After the break we took control, they barely came to our half for a good while. However we were absolutely incompetent in front off the goal and wasted at least 3-4 clar-cut-chances. And football always punishes you, another penalty meant it was a 0-3 hill to climb.
Erőd FC tried everything in order to turn things around, multiple tactical changes led to more chances but we couldn’t even hit the target once. Not from 10 metres, short or long range, it just wasn’t our day. Since the team pushed forward, the defensive effort declined and Bőrlabda hit us hard on counters making it 6-0 in the end.
The scoreline might be grim, but we came off the pitch with our heads up high, because we didn’t give up and believed in a comeback for a long time. However we have to acknowledge how well our opponent organized their team and managed the match perfectly and for that they deserved to win.
A nagyarányú vereség ellenére büszkék vagyunk a játékosainkra, mert az utolsó pillanatig, az utolsó leheletig küzdöttünk, és valóban hittük, hogy fordíthatunk még negyedórával a mérkőzés vége előtt is. Erre egészen sokáig teljesen reális esély is mutatkozott. Ezen a napon azonban egyszerűen semmi sem jött össze, viszont a pályáról emelt fővel távozhattunk, mindent megtettünk. Mindezek mellett a vendég csapat teljesen megérdemelten vitte el a 3 pontot, frissebbek és élesebbek voltak, jól menedzselték a találkozót, a kritikus időszakokat átvészelve, a lehetőségeikkel gyakorlatilag 100 százalékosan gazdálkodva.
