As the 4th and 3rd team played eachother, we prepared for a derby on Sunday. The difference was only 1 point on the table and we were missing 26 goals (of the 33 we scored so far) due to illness or injury out of our 33, but our opponent was missing their top scorer too.

We started well with Sebők hitting the post in the second minute but this wasn’t followed by any excitement for a while. Nimród took the lead in the 18th minute with a great shot out of the box, Balázs Száz had no chance to save. However we equalized quickly. An interception followed by a great through ball put Balázs Kerényi in acres of space, he took his time and scored a lovely goal in the upper left corner. Kerényi could have scored a brace just minutes later after Sebők centered the ball from the right side of the pitch, but he couldn’t connect with the ball well enough. Sebők took the lead with this fantastic strike instead.

Unfortunately we were too busy arguing with the referee a few minutes later and Gábor Soós didn’t hesitate to make us pay for it with a smart goal. However we still finished the first half with a two goal lead when Kerényi got another nice ball from Auth and he selflessly passed it to Sebők, who got his hat-trick easily with this move.

In the second half our defensive work improved but our end product got worse. We didn’t allow many chances to our opponent but we didn’t finish ours either. Nimród scored a consolation goal in the 78th minute, but nothing really happened afterwards, which meant we took all three points.

Nimród SE has a great team in the BLSZ II league and they proved to have a very organized and well prepared team in this division as well. We had to work hard for this victory which is a testament to Nimród’s effort. We thank Nimród SE II for the match and wish them good luck in the championhsip.
