Our players once again voted for the Player of the Month in May. The result was very clear this time: Dávid Lőrincz scored four goals and had three assists this month, so most players voted for the attacker. We’re introducing him now.

You were named Player of the Month, congratulations! Did you expect it?

I didn’t necessarily expect it, but I honestly felt I might have a chance this time. I tried to give it my all even at the end of the season, and I’m glad my teammates saw it that way!

You only joined us in the winter, but you’ve already made a major impact. You’re among the leaders in both goals and assists, and you even have the best goals-per-minute ratio: you’ve scored every 126 minutes. Has finishing always been your strongest attribute?

Not a bad stat, huh? Yeah, for some reason, attacking has always been where I’ve felt most at home. I love feeling the pressure when I have to finish off a chance.

As I said, you just joined the team, so how do you feel as part of the squad?

I feel great, these guys have been really welcoming. It’s easy to find common ground both on and off the field with such a young squad.

You’ve played both winger and striker, which position do you prefer?

Maybe striker is a little closer to my heart, but that changes every match. I like to play wherever I can make the most of my speed.

How and where did you start playing football?

As soon as I could walk, I started chasing the ball, and that love has lasted ever since. I first learned the basics of futsal, and only later switched to football due to my friends’ urging.

Thanks to your friends for that! Do you have a favorite team or player?

My favorite team will always be FC Barcelona. It goes without saying that I grew up admiring Lionel Messi’s playing style because of that.

What has been the most memorable soccer-related experience of your life?

If I have to think of a personal experience, the most memorable was definitely when I got to play against Haladás VSE—a team in the Champions League group stage in the Hungarian Futsal Cup. Though, to be honest, I didn’t get the ball very often in that match…

Do you have any hobbies besides football?

Overall, sports are my hobby. No matter what form, I just find being active really energizing. Besides that, spending time with my friends is essential to me, whether we’re training together or just hanging out.
