Our players once again voted for the Player of the Month in March. This time, the tireless driving force of our midfield, Tamás Sági, received the most votes. Tomi joined us during the winter break—let’s introduce him.
You were voted Player of the Month, congratulations! Did you expect it?
I didn’t expect it, because although the spring season got off to a rough start and the results didn’t always reflect our performance, there were many outstanding performances on the team. I’m grateful for the playing time and the trust the team has placed in me. But I’d like to emphasize that soccer is a team sport; the results required many outstanding performances, so I could name several teammates who also deserved this title.
You only joined us in the winter, but you quickly fought your way into the starting lineup. How do you feel on the team?
I returned to full-field soccer after a long break, so I’m still working on getting back to my old form, but the winter friendly matches helped a lot with catching up. Since several of my friends—with whom I used to play on a small field—joined the club at the same time, fitting in was seamless, and I quickly found my place on the team.

How and where did you start playing soccer?
I started playing soccer with my neighbors during the summer break after second grade in elementary school. I really loved it, so I went to one of the local club’s practices. I enjoyed it so much that I stuck with it.
Do you have a favorite team or player?
When I first started watching soccer games, I was really captivated by Barcelona’s style of play with Lionel Messi. These days, I admire Pedri’s style and the way he plays.
What has been the most memorable soccer-related experience of your life?
In my first season when I was training with the adults, we managed to win the county cup. Although I was just a substitute and only got the chance to play as a substitute, it was still an unforgettable experience.
Do you have any hobbies besides soccer?
I try to live an active life; I’m open to almost any sport, but my absolute favorite is sailing. And when I’m looking for peace and quiet, fishing is the perfect way to unwind.
